All right. This is a post i had never thought cud be published on my blog, but here it is. A lot of you wudve your own opinions on it, so just comment !
Like we are taught in every single class that men and women are equal. So, there shud be equal job opportunities, equality everywhere. So, the question im goin to answer here is :
ARE MEN AND WOMEN REALLY EQUAL ?
1. Im certainly not against women equality.
2. The answer starts here.
There shud be equality, no doubt on that. But the notion of men and women being equal in all aspects is quite wrong. I'll tell you why.
The ancient society system here[we're only considering India now], has been subjected to harsh criticism on the grounds that men and women had been assigned different roles by the society...whereas they shud have equal access to the facilities. I say : That system WAS RIGHT. If you take genetics, brain functioning, and simple logic here, you'll understand why.
Women are weaker than men in physical strength. We all know that. But do all of you know why this is ?
Men are wired in the brain very differently than women. Men are wired to be assertive, strong, aggressive...why? simple - to hunt. Women whereas are wired to protect the nests. That is the reason why they are homely and stuff. Ever observed, when your mother sleeps, even the smallest sound of water dripping from a tap cud disturb her? This happens since women require the edge over predators in defending the nest. That is the reason why her ears are unusually sharp at that time. One more thing, ever seen your mother cooking ,while reading instructions and talking on the phone at the same time ? Another ques : Have you ever seen your dad do 3 different things simultaneously ? Its no. When your dad reads the paper, he usually doesnt respond...this is only because women are more adept at multitasking than men.
I presented this arguament to my bio teacher and she says that it is stopping now...there is no need for a woman to stay at home now. Yea rite...do humans also start leaving their kids to care for themsleves like croc kids ?
Current:
Recently the different grand slam associations decided to present the same amont of money to men as well as ladies for winning. But why? Men slog out 5 sets...while women at the maximum compete for 3. Against this, im usually argued by people saying that women are not at that physical level to play 5 sets...so i say - why give them equal money ?
Lete them play 5 sets and just give them equal winnings.
While discussing gender reservations in out sociology class...one of my good friends - Katyayan - said this : "If women want reservations in educational institutions, they shud first accept they are inferior, then take reservations as they want."
He is quite right by the way...reservations are only meant for "the weaker sections of the society". Women say they want equality...then ask for reservations too ? Dead hypocritic in my opinion. This applies for other reservations based debates too.

i dont agree wid this at allll.........i mean how could u comment on women like this.....lemme remind u about kiran bedi n sonia gandhi..there r many more bt i dont hav d time to write..............n who is katyayan to decide about d reservations n all............he is nt d prime minster of d country..........n r r nt inferior d thing is bcoz of d society n all these shitty coustom we hav suffered a lot........so there is no harm in asking fr a compensation........
hey...i never said i dont support feminism and if u read that correctly...it has the science behind it. women are NOT inferior...they do sum things better than men and at sum men are better.
and about the katyayan thing...all i did was to quote him. we all have our own opinions, though some people are dysfunctional even to have an opinion.
Women do NOT want to be superior.
We are NOT inferior, just treated as if we are of lower status.
All we ask for is equality. It is not the hardest thing to accomplish.
I agree with Shreekant when he said women, biologically, are the weaker sex. It is how humans have evolved.
Male tennis players serve a lot faster. But, irrespective of men or women, they put their 100% in the courts. It is the effort on the court which players put in that matters, regardless of different endurance, physical levels.
Women were protectors and men hunted. But that was the situation thousands of years ago. Today, there is no evidence to suggest women have smaller brains or are dumber than men. So why should we be restricted to housework? There is certainly nothing shameful about taking care of the household. Infact, since men are known to be the stronger sex, it would certainly help.
Furthermore, women are more responsible. This fact was repeatedly proven during a survey taken in Mohammed Yunus [Nobel Peace Prize winner and founder of Grameen Bank, an institution providing micro-credit]. It was discovered that women returned loans instead of spending the money carelessly. They started small businesses and grew self dependent.
Plus, it is more or less an established fact that girls perform far better than boys in examinations such as the Boards.
Responding to the call to accept our inferiority, people might as well forget about it. Like I mentioned above, we are NOT inferior. We are treated so. Reservations are not to establish our status but to help encourage female participation. For instance, when reservations were introduced in the panchayats, it was found that the efficiency of the adminstration rose steadily. Also, decisions made by the panchayat were kept keeping development in mind and facilitated the provision of basic civic amenities such as water, electricity etc. Finally, active women's participation has led to a sharp decline in corruption and bribery.
And, have you ever heard of a woman raping a man?
Have you ever heard of a woman demanding dowry?
Have you ever heard of a woman killing her family to inherit wealth? [Reference to the massacre of the Royal family of Nepal by current King Gyanendra]
Have you ever heard of women say things like "It's okay, if we smoke, drink and become promiscous but it's not okay if its a boy"?
Have you ever witnessed 80 drunk women molest 2 men?
PS~! Women are less likely to have bad hairdays. So beat that~! =P

but the basic difference between men and women is needed to be understood.women have multi personalities and guys have split personalities... u rarely find women who r hard heated but most men are. girls r now way ahead of men, no doubt.. now days u don't find guys leaving a girl its vice-versa.... this is just an example.. if anyone has a problem with dowry then change the system. ASK FOR DOWRY ON Ur MARRIAGE... y r u asking for better treatment. have it. take it. i support feminism but until women don't do anything...its not possible.. y do u expect men to change .... show them the way to change.... show them the need.. y would they break the strands of complacency.....i respect women.. and i know it that i do...i believe women deserve empowerment.. but don't forget there r many rakhi sawant's also.... its like burai dekhni hai toh bahut bura hai acchhai dekhni hai toh sab acchha hai.... i am not supporting those rapists out there . in my opinion they should be produced naked in the market and should be shot on their penis but..... who should do this ?
